Frequently asked questions

Can Margin read my notes?

No. Notes are encrypted on your device before they sync. We only store encrypted data.

How does the AI work if my notes are encrypted?

Most AI runs on your phone. When you use cloud AI, only the few relevant snippets are sent, over an encrypted connection, to providers that don't train on your data. You can switch to "On-device AI only" anytime.

Why can't I subscribe on the website?

Subscriptions are handled by Google Play and the App Store, so you can manage or cancel them where you already manage your other subscriptions.

What happens if I cancel Pro?

Nothing is deleted. You keep all your notes; Pro features stop at the end of the period.

What if I lose my phone?

Use your Recovery kit, or another signed-in device, to restore access. Without either, nobody (including us) can decrypt your notes.

When is iOS coming?

After the Android beta. Join the waitlist and pick iOS to be notified.

Which languages are supported?

English at launch. German, French, Spanish and Turkish are planned.
