Privacy policy

Margin is built so that we cannot read your notes. This page explains what data we do process: the waitlist you can join on this website, and — once the app ships — the encrypted sync service described in the app's in-product privacy notice.
What we collect on this website
- Waitlist signups: your email address, the platform you selected (Android, iOS or both), your consent text version and timestamp, and a hashed (HMAC) version of your IP address used only for spam/rate-limit protection.
- We do not use tracking cookies or third-party ad trackers on this site. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-less and does not track you across sites.
Why we collect it
To send you a confirmation email, to invite you to the closed beta or notify you at launch, and to prevent abuse of the signup form. We never sell or rent your email address.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare hosts this website, the waitlist database (D1) and verifies you are not a bot (Turnstile).
- Resend sends the confirmation and unsubscribe emails on our behalf.
Your choices
Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to delete your waitlist entry at any time by emailing us. Unconfirmed signups are deleted automatically after 30 days.
The app's privacy model
Once Margin ships, your notes are end-to-end encrypted on your device before they ever sync. We only ever store encrypted data — we do not have the keys, and we cannot read your notes. Full details will live in the in-app privacy notice.
